In this fun and flavorful class, you’ll explore a Japanese-inspired menu that’s all about crisp textures, bold umami, and clean, satisfying flavors. We’ll start by teaching you how to make Pork Gyoza from scratch—mixing the savory filling, learning the proper fold, then pan-searing and steaming each dumpling to golden, juicy perfection.
Next, you’ll learn the art of the Sesame-Seared Ahi Tuna Steak—a showstopping dish that’s quick to cook but impressive in both flavor and presentation. We’ll walk you through how to sear the tuna just right so it stays rare and tender inside, and serve it up with two delicious sauces: a tangy Soy-Ginger Dipping Sauce and a creamy Yum Yum Sauce (with an optional spicy twist).
On the side, you’ll make a crisp and refreshing Cucumber Shallot Salad with sesame and rice vinegar—perfect for cutting through the richness of the tuna—and a fragrant, buttery. bright Herbed Jasmine Rice to round out the meal.

All sales are final. A minimum 48-hour notice via email (info@thelearningkitchen.com) is required for rescheduling. A minimum 7-day notice via email is required for rescheduling reservations of four or more guests. If you are unable to attend a class, you are encouraged to send someone in your place. We cannot make exceptions.
Our recipes use common ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction we should be aware of, please call or email before attending class. We may or may not be able to accommodate.
