Cooking 101/Knife Skills



Sharpen your skills and boost your kitchen confidence in our Cooking 101/Knife Skills class! Whether you’re new to cooking or want to refine your technique, mastering the use of knives is the key to efficient and safe meal prep. In this class, you’ll dive into essential knife skills, learning how to choose, care for, and handle different types of knives with precision.

You’ll practice your techniques on a variety of fresh vegetables, perfecting your chopping, slicing, dicing, and julienning skills as you work towards creating two delicious dishes: a vibrant Panzanella Salad and a hearty Shrimp and Corn Chowder. Using three premium knives—two Asian and one European—you’ll get hands-on experience with different styles of blades, helping you discover which type feels best for you.

To make the experience even better, all participants will enjoy an exclusive 25% discount on Global, Messermeister, and Shun knives on the day of the class.


Minimum age requirement is 16. 

Guests receive a 20% discount on future classes and 10% discount on any in-store purchase on the day of class (does not compound w/ other discounts)!

All sales are final. A minimum 48-hour notice via email (info@thelearningkitchen.com) is required for class rescheduling. A minimum 7-day notice via phone or in-person is required for class cancellations or rescheduling for reservation of four or more guests. If you are unable to attend a class, you are encouraged to send someone in your place. We cannot make exceptions. If you have a large group, consider a private party!

Our recipes use common ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction we should be aware of, please call or email before attending the class. We may or may not be able to accommodate.
