Discover your Inner Chef

From the moment The Learning Kitchen was born, we knew we wanted our cooking classes to be different from others in the Cincinnati, OH area. Each month we offer a class calendar for cooks of all skill levels, using seasonal foods that are locally grown when possible.

Hands-On Cooking Classes

Our hands-on classes are truly hands-on, you'll cook at your own cooktop and eat all you cook...no group cooking here!

The center of our kitchen is a cooking island equipped with 12 student stations and an instructor's station. Each student has two burners, pots and pans and all the tools needed to cook the day's menu.

Our teaching chefs don't just tell you how to cook, you actually learn the techniques and recipes by cooking your own meal. From chopping the onion to sautéing the chicken to cutting the phyllo, you'll get to do it all—which really is the best way to learn. When the meal is complete, everyone gathers around the dining table to enjoy what they've created. All students receive copies of the day's recipes to take home.

After-Class Discounts

On the day of class you'll save 10% on Kitchen Boutique product purchases and 20% future class registrations!  Cannot be combined with other offers or applied to gift cards.  Future classes must be booked in-store to receive the discount.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum 7-day notice via phone or in-person (not email) is required for class cancellations or rescheduling. This policy is in place to keep the costs of our classes as low as possible and ensure that seats are sold to those committed to attending.

In the event we have a waiting list for your class and we are able to fill your spot with someone from that list, we will issue a store credit for the cost of your class which can be used toward a future class.  

If you are unable to attend a class, you are encouraged to send someone in your place. We cannot make exceptions.

This super fun and yummy class is inspired by a popular menu selection at some of your favorite restaurants.

Chicken Marsala, with its slightly sweet, rich and savory sauce, is a great recipe to have in your culinary arsenal for dinner parties or any special night.You will begin your meal by preparing a Fresh Spinach Salad with Mandarin Oranges, Slivered Almonds, Cheese and Homemade Dressing. Next, cooking at your own induction cooktop, you'll learn the technique of preparing Chicken Marsala with traditional Marsala Wine and Mushroom Sauce. You?ll also create Parmesan Polenta with Pan-Roasted Brussel Sprouts, and chef will cook up some Garlicky Charred Broccoli. This is sure to become one of your favorites when you want to serve an elegant meal.

Gnocchi can be so many things - an elegant meal for entertaining or a time saving alternative to homemade pasta. In this class, you'll learn the technique behind making basic gnocchi dough, then transform it into a savory recipe and a dessert recipe. Add Panko-Crusted chicken and you have a meal!

Remove the mystery from cooking steak at home by learning the techniques that you will practice in this class. Our Chef will cover how to purchase steaks, what cuts to use for different cooking techniques and cooking temperatures using an instant read thermometer.

Eating breakfast for dinner is one of life's great pleasures, it's such a treat! We think you should treat yourself a little more often, and while you're at it, you might as well make it delicious. The dishes on this menu transition to dinner perfectly. We'll start with prosciutto and asparagus eggs benedict over english muffins, complete with poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce. It doesn't get any more deluxe than that! But there's more, for dessert, we're making lemon ricotta pancakes!

Chef Bobby Flay is known for bold flavors and balanced spices and in this class you'll prepare three of our favorites.

Making risotto may sound intimidating, but Chef will take all the mystery out of it in this class. After a salad first course, you'll learn the steps to creating a quality risotto, and how turn it into something fantastic, a Rich Wild Mushroom & Bacon Risotto! Because we like to have options, you'll also make a Fresh Herb & Parmesan Risotto with Peas. The Chef will also demonstrate a Dessert Risotto with Vanilla and Orange.

We all know Kentucky Bourbon is some of the finest drink in the world, but in this class, we'll be using it to flavor our food! You and your date will cook a Filet Mignon with a lovely sauce made from bourbon, shallots, butter, and cream. Can't go wrong there! We've also got pan-roasted brussels sprouts and the best crispy roast potatoes you've ever had to round out the meal.

Learning to prepare perfect sticky rice and create artful sushi rolls can be a fun dinner party with friends or a romantic date night in.

Come and learn how to get that Japanese steakhouse hibachi flavor you crave in the comfort of your own home! We're trying to recreate everybody's favorites here, so we're going with Hibachi Beef and Shrimp with a side of mixed vegetables, and of course, fried rice. BUT that's not all! You can't forget about the house salad of iceberg and carrots with the ginger dressing, so simple and tasty, a great way to start the meal. We've got one more well kept secret to show you too, the shrimp sauce a.k.a. Yum Yum sauce, that brings some great flavor to everything else on the plate.

Pizza from scratch may seem like a daunting task, but it's not as hard as you think! In this class you'll make your own pizza dough, neapolitan pizza sauce, and you'll even pull your own mozzarella from curds! We'll also have a few toppings for you to choose from, and then its into the oven to cook our pizzas on a stone (the best way). Our chef will make a big Caesar salad to be served family style.

Have you been hearing about this new fool-proof method of making the perfect steak?! Well we have, and if you want to try it yourself, come on down and we'll show you how it's done. The sous-vide method offers "edge-to-edge" cooking at a very consistent temperature, something which is all but impossible with other methods. Along with your steak, we will have a salad and some sides to complete the meal.

We're making authentic Spanish Paella with the classic flavors and aromas of saffron and perfectly crispy toasted bomba rice served right in the pan. Paella is a meal in and of itself, but we'll have some tapas to accompany it and round out the experience.

We're taking a trip to the streets of Mexico without ever leaving our kitchen! Two of the most popular street foods in mexicao are empanadas and elotes. In this class, students will make their own empanada dough from scratch and make two different fillings, one vegetarian and one beef. Elotes are a highly addictive grilled street corn with a delicious sauce, cheese, and herbs piled on top.

Japanese cuisine is one of the most highly regarded around the world. In this class, students will get to taste a few of the favorite classics! Start with a sesame dressed cucumber salad, then move on to edamame, egg fried rice, and teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki sauce will be made from scratch and, although it's super flavorful, it's really simple!

In this class, Chef will teach you all the skills you need to create this amazing French Bistro staple. You will also make a fresh summer vegetable salad and a dessert of caramelized banana. Fresh Corn Tortillas make store bought corn tortillas taste like cardboard. Mixing the dough and pressing the tortillas from fresh ingredients is so much more delicious & fun! We'll turn our homemade tortillas into 2 different savory tacos and we'll use a flour tortilla to make one sweet treat.

We love teaching our homemade pasta classes, so we're putting a new twist on it by combining it with the superb carbonara. You will use an Italian Pasta Maker to create a batch of homemade pasta, and then use the delicious noodles to prepare Pasta Carbonara with Pancetta and plenty of Parmigiano.
