From the moment The Learning Kitchen was born, we knew we wanted our cooking classes to be different from others in the Cincinnati, OH area. Each month we offer a class calendar for cooks of all skill levels, using seasonal foods that are locally grown when possible.
Hands-On Cooking Classes
Our hands-on classes are truly hands-on, you'll cook at your own cooktop and eat all you cook...no group cooking here!
The center of our kitchen is a cooking island equipped with 12 student stations and an instructor's station. Each student has two burners, pots and pans and all the tools needed to cook the day's menu.
Our teaching chefs don't just tell you how to cook, you actually learn the techniques and recipes by cooking your own meal. From chopping the onion to sautéing the chicken to cutting the phyllo, you'll get to do it all—which really is the best way to learn. When the meal is complete, everyone gathers around the dining table to enjoy what they've created. All students receive copies of the day's recipes to take home.

Date Night Authentic Chinese: Sichuan If you've ever wondered what authentic Chinese food is, this is your chance to find out! Chef Timmy Kirk lived in China for 5 years and fell in love with the food. Now he is back home, but he brought the flavors of China's most famous regional cuisine, Sichuan, with him.
Date Night Chicken Parm & Strawberry Shortcake Buttery noodles, a crispy chicken cutlet topped with a homemade tomato sauce, melty mozzarella, rich parmesan, and some fresh parsley. What more could you ask for? Dessert, of course. Strawberry Shortcake to be specific. Yum!
Date Night Detroit Style Pizza from Scratch Pizza from scratch may seem like a daunting task, but it's not as hard as you think! In this class you'll make and share your own Detroit style pizza, zesty pizza sauce, and you'll even pull your own mozzarella from curds!
Date Night Hibachi Steak & Shrimp Come and learn how to get that Japanese steakhouse hibachi flavor you crave in the comfort of your own home! We're making it all: Hibachi Beef and Shrimp, Veggies, Fried Rice, Soup, Salad, and Yum Yum Sauce!
Date Night Homemade Pasta Workshop Making fresh pasta is a great skill to learn and one that can help make delicious and impressive meals at home! In this class, you and your date will make Pasta Dough with simple ingredients, as you learn how to knead and rest the dough then use an Italian Pasta Machine to make Linguini.
Date Night India Have you made Indian food at home and wondered why it doesn't quite taste like the restaurant? What are they doing differently? Do they have some secret ingredients? The rich flavors of Indian cooking will be easier for you to replicate after taking this class.
Date Night KY Bourbon Steak This is one of our most popular and highest reviewed classes, and with good reason! We all know Kentucky Bourbon is some of the finest drink in the world, but in this class, we'll be using it to flavor our food!
Date Night Shrimp & Filet Filet Mignon, Panko-Crusted Shrimp, Buttery Sugar Snap Peas, and Garlic Whipped Potatoes! What's not to love? This makes an excellent meal to impress your date or dinner guests.
Date Night Steak & Stout Sauce You'll work side by side with your date at an induction cooktop to prepare this delicious meal. Learn the techniques for cooking a NY Strip steak to perfection and discover how preparing and adding a sauce will elevate your steak to fine dining restaurant quality.
Pork Chops & Apple Cobbler Pork Chops have a small window of perfection, but when you find it, oh man are they good! In this class we'll teach you how to make an amazing Pork Chop with Thyme and Marsala Wine Sauce with a couple sides. Apple Cobbler for Dessert!
Kids Class: Chicken Teriyaki & Fried Rice Japanese cuisine is one of the most highly regarded around the world. In this class, students will get to taste a few of the favorite classics! Start with a sesame dressed cucumber salad, then move on to edamame, egg fried rice, and teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki sauce will be made from scratch and, although it's super flavorful, it's really simple!
Kids Class: Pan Grilled Pizza If you think pizza can only be made in an oven, this class is for you. Chef will show you how to make the perfect Grilled Pan Pizza. Load your pizza with your choice to toppings and be amazed as you transform it from a gooey dough to a mouthwatering meal.
Parent Child Date Night Chicken Enchiladas Done Right A Mexican staple, enchiladas are so tasty, and great for feeding a crowd, or just make a ton for yourself and save the rest for lunch the next day. You'll want to eat them again. We won't judge you. In fact, we're kind of jealous.
Parent Child Date Night Homemade Cinnamon Rolls These Homemade From Scratch Cinnamon Rolls are an absolute treat! With pillowy soft centers, crispy bottoms and the most indulgent Cream Cheese Frosting gently melted over to fill in every nook and cranny. This class is part of a popular series which focuses on the techniques involved in cooking an often-used ingredient. Cooking at your own induction cooktop you'll learn three different ways to season, cook and sauce pork.
