From the moment The Learning Kitchen was born, we knew we wanted our cooking classes to be different from others in the Cincinnati, OH area. Each month we offer a class calendar for cooks of all skill levels, using seasonal foods that are locally grown when possible.

Hands-On Cooking Classes

Our hands-on classes are truly hands-on, you'll cook at your own cooktop and eat all you cook...no group cooking here!

The center of our kitchen is a cooking island equipped with 12 student stations and an instructor's station. Each student has two burners, pots and pans and all the tools needed to cook the day's menu.

Our teaching chefs don't just tell you how to cook, you actually learn the techniques and recipes by cooking your own meal. From chopping the onion to sautéing the chicken to cutting the phyllo, you'll get to do it all—which really is the best way to learn. When the meal is complete, everyone gathers around the dining table to enjoy what they've created. All students receive copies of the day's recipes to take home.

After-Class Discounts

On the day of class you'll save 20% on Kitchen Boutique product purchases and future class registrations.  Cannot be combined with other offers or applied to gift cards.  Future classes must be booked in-store to receive the discount.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum 7-day notice via phone or in-person (not email) is required for class cancellations or rescheduling. This policy is in place to keep the costs of our classes as low as possible and ensure that seats are sold to those committed to attending.

In the event we have a waiting list for your class and we are able to fill your spot with someone from that list, we will issue a store credit for the cost of your class which can be used toward a future class.  

If you are unable to attend a class, you are encouraged to send someone in your place. We cannot make exceptions.

This super fun and yummy class is inspired by a popular menu selection at some of your favorite restaurants.

Chicken Marsala, with its slightly sweet, rich and savory sauce, is a great recipe to have in your culinary arsenal for dinner parties or any special night. This meal starts with a salad, then for the main course you'll cook chicken marsala, parmesan polenta, and pan-roasted brussels sprouts.

Take a break from ramen noodle packets and jarred spaghetti sauce and learn how to cook a couple of meals that are delicious, nutritious, and fit easily into a college students budget! The two meals you'll learn in this class are Greek Chicken Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce and a Noodle, Chicken, and Veggie Bowl with Sesame Peanut Sauce. Both of the meals you'll make in this class taste great the next day too, so make a little extra and a busy schedule won't keep you from eating well.

Gnocchi can be so many things - an elegant meal for entertaining or a time saving alternative to homemade pasta. In this class, you'll learn the technique behind making basic gnocchi dough, then transform it into a savory recipe and a dessert recipe. Add Panko-Crusted chicken and you have a meal!

Remove the mystery from cooking steak at home by learning the techniques that you will practice in this class. Our Chef will cover how to purchase steaks, what cuts to use for different cooking techniques and cooking temperatures using an instant read thermometer.

This is one of our most popular and highest reviewed classes, and with good reason! We all know Kentucky Bourbon is some of the finest drink in the world, but in this class, we'll be using it to flavor our food! Start the night with a simple but flavorful salad, and once that's out of the way, we move on to the real reason you signed up, a NY Strip with a lovely sauce made from bourbon, shallots, butter, and cream, can't go wrong there! We've also go two awesome sides to fill you up...

Eating breakfast for dinner is one of life's great pleasures, it's such a treat! We think you should treat yourself a little more often, and while you're at it, you might as well make it delicious. The dishes on this menu transition to dinner perfectly. We'll start with prosciutto and asparagus eggs benedict over english muffins, complete with poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce. It doesn't get any more deluxe than that! But there's more, for dessert, we're making lemon ricotta pancakes!

Galettes have become more and more popular over the last few years. There's a few good reasons for that... You know the saying "easy as pie"? Well a galette is even easier! You don't have to make it fit into a pan, make a lattice topping, or blind bake it at all. Just roll the dough out, make a great filling, fold the sides up, and bake. In this class we'll show you how to make the ultimate galette/pie crust, and you'll us it to make two galettes, one savory and one sweet.

A little intimidated by Turkey Day? We're help to help you prepare! Many Thanksgiving cooking classes will cook up a turkey and the chef will demonstrate how to carve it, but we had another idea... What if each person cooked a cornish hen and then carved it themselves? This way everyone can learn how to carve with first hand experience, since the cornish hen and a turkey have almost exactly the same anatomy! That's not all though, read the full description for everything you'll learn...

If you are looking for a fun and delicious Date Night. This class is for you. You and your date start the evening preparing a Garden Fresh Green Salad. Next you'll prepare a luxurious Crab and Avocado Salad that will top your steak. Then you'll prepare a Chipotle Chili Seasoned NY Strip Steak with a wine reduction pan sauce. Add a crispy Potato Hash and you've just made a high end restaurant worthy meal. As a New Year's Eve bonus, we're throwing in a bottle of champagne!

This menu will fill you up with the flavors of fall and leave you wanting to sip some wine by the fire. We'll start with rich and crispy potato pancakes served with sour cream and chives. Then, we'll teach you the hows and whys of brining meat before walking you through an excellent method for searing a pork chop to perfection without drying it out, and how to make a pan sauce. On the side, you will cook some braised red cabbage with bacon, and our chef will serve up some roasted butternut squash family style.

Pizza from scratch may seem like a daunting task, but it's not as hard as you think! In this class you'll make your own pizza dough, neapolitan pizza sauce, and you'll even pull your own mozzarella from curds! We'll also have a few toppings for you to choose from, and then its into the oven to cook our pizzas on a stone (the best way). Our chef will make a big Caesar salad to be served family style. If you have ever wondered what authentic Chinese food is, this is your chance to find out! Chef Timmy Kirk lived in China for 5 years and fell in love with the food. Now he is back home, but he brought the flavors of China's most famous regional cuisine, Sichuan, with him.

Thai curries are the perfect example of the balance between the four most essential elements of incredible food, and we'll explore the possibilities here.
