From the moment The Learning Kitchen was born, we knew we wanted our cooking classes to be different from others in the Cincinnati, OH area. Each month we offer a class calendar for cooks of all skill levels, using seasonal foods that are locally grown when possible.
Hands-On Cooking Classes
Our hands-on classes are truly hands-on, you'll cook at your own cooktop and eat all you cook...no group cooking here!
The center of our kitchen is a cooking island equipped with 12 student stations and an instructor's station. Each student has two burners, pots and pans and all the tools needed to cook the day's menu.
Our teaching chefs don't just tell you how to cook, you actually learn the techniques and recipes by cooking your own meal. From chopping the onion to sautéing the chicken to cutting the phyllo, you'll get to do it all—which really is the best way to learn. When the meal is complete, everyone gathers around the dining table to enjoy what they've created. All students receive copies of the day's recipes to take home.

Chicken Parmesan & Strawberry Shortcake Buttery noodles, a crispy chicken cutlet topped with a homemade tomato sauce, melty mozzarella, rich parmesan, and fresh parsley. What more could you ask for? Dessert, of course. Strawberry Shortcake to be specific. Yum!
Fall Comfort Food This menu will fill you up with the flavors of fall and leave you wanting to sip some wine by the fire. We start with crispy potato pancakes. Then, we'll sear a pork chop to perfection, braise some red cabbage with bacon, and roast some butternut squash.
FALL in Love with Soup! When the seasons start to turn, the leaves change color, and the weather gets chilly, something happens in our brains and bodies that makes us crave the warm comfort of a bowl of rich and hot soup.
Homemade Cinnamon Rolls These Homemade From Scratch Cinnamon Rolls are an absolute treat! With pillowy soft centers, crispy bottoms and the most indulgent Cream Cheese Frosting gently melted over to fill in every nook and cranny. You will be your family's favorite person for at least a week after making these for them.
Homemade Gnocchi Workshop In this class, you'll learn the technique behind making basic gnocchi dough, then transform it into a savory recipe and a dessert recipe. Add Panko-Crusted chicken and you have a meal!
Lava Cakes & Homemade Cheesecake Ice Cream Two classic desserts, one delicious class! Our chefs will cook up a simple meal for you to enjoy before the desserts are done so you won't be eating only sweets for dinner (though we won't judge you if you do).
Philly Cheesesteak & Perfect Fries A Philly Cheesesteak is truly one of the greatest sandwiches in the world. Thinly sliced beef browned to perfection, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and melty cheese all snuggled up in a loaf of bread that catches and holds in all of the juicy deliciousness.
Date Night Authentic Thai Cuisine Thai curries are the perfect example of the balance of flavors that can make food so tasty. Even though you're cooking in pairs you'll each make your own curry paste by hand with a mortar and pestle. Choice of green, red, yellow, or penang curry.
Date Night Detroit Style Pizza from Scratch Pizza from scratch may seem like a daunting task, but it's not as hard as you think! In this class you'll make and share your own Detroit style pizza, zesty pizza sauce, and you'll even pull your own mozzarella from curds!
Date Night Filet & Risotto Treat yourself to a lovely dinner that checks all the boxes. Salad w/ Homemade Vinaigrette, check. Filet Mignon w/ a Savory Pan Sauce, Rich and Creamy Risotto topped w/ Peppered Bacon, and Buttery Roasted Carrots Drizzled with Balsamic, check check check.
Date Night French Bistro We'll cook up the flavors of France with four delicious recipes. Herb and Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast with a White Wine Sauce, French Bistro Potatoes, Roasted Broccoli with Lemon Garlic Vin, and a Chocolate Mousse with Berry topping.
Date Night Hibachi Steak & Shrimp Come and learn how to get that Japanese steakhouse hibachi flavor you crave in the comfort of your own home! We're making it all: Hibachi Beef and Shrimp, Veggies, Fried Rice, Soup, Salad, and Yum Yum Sauce!
Date Night Homemade Ravioli Workshop Making fresh pasta is a fun skill to learn, and one that can really make delicious and impressive meals! In this class, you and your date will make your own pasta dough, then learn about and practice resting and kneading.
Date Night India Have you made Indian food at home and wondered why it doesn't quite taste like the restaurant? What are they doing differently? Do they have some secret ingredients? The rich flavors of Indian cooking will be easier for you to replicate after taking this class.
Date Night KY Bourbon Steak This is one of our most popular and highest reviewed classes, and with good reason! We all know Kentucky Bourbon is some of the finest drink in the world, but in this class, we'll be using it to flavor our food!
Date Night Rustic Italian Dinner & Dessert Comfort in a bowl, this classic Italian Spaghetti OR Polenta & Meatballs hits the spot. Chicken Fajitas Done Right Making your own Fajitas from scratch, including the ever-important seasoning mix is a skill that you'll use over and over - these are sure to be requested in your house regularly.
Mediterranean Chicken Dinner Divert from the usual and make something that is both simple and delicious. For this class we make a lightly marinated Greek style chicken breast with a lemon butter sauce, so tasty! On the side we will have a warm quinoa, artichoke, and feta salad, and a simple pan roasted veggie. Come and learn some straight-forward techniques to improve your kitchen confidence.
Pad Thai & Fresh Spring Rolls Pad Thai is one of the most popular dishes in Thailand. Wherever there is street food, there is pad thai, and it's on most restaurant menus too! There can only be one reason... it's so darn delicious!
Fish: Season, Sear & Sauce Looking to improve or add variety to your fish cooking skills? This class is part of a popular series which focuses on the techniques involved in cooking an often-used ingredient. You'll learn three different ways to season, cook and sauce fish.
Pickling and Canning Featuring Tiffany Metz In this class you have the opportunity to pickle and preserve some typical...and not so typical items. We'll then prepare a delicious meal centered around the foods that you pickled in class beginning with a fun summer cocktail and salad, followed by a deliciously seasonal Pork Chop dinner with sides!
